This month we wanted to take some time to share about what we do at IHOP-KC. Just for fun, we also thought we’d also give you a snapshot of our daily life. Hope you enjoy it!
What We Do
We are intercessory missionaries. We pray 24 hours a week in the Global Prayer Room (www.ihop.org/about) and we spend 24 hours a week giving leadership to the daily operations of the Missions Base.
Heba
Heba is the Head of Small Groups and Pastoral Care for the IHOPU Apostolic Preaching Program (APP)*. She is also the assistant to the Executive Vice President of IHOPU.
Joseph
Joseph is the manager of the Sacred Trust (Staff Development) Office and on the Prayer Room Leadership Team. He is also one of the men’s small group leaders for the Apostolic Preaching Program at IHOPU*.
*IHOPU is the training wing of the IHOP Missions Base. The Apostolic Preaching Program (APP) is the Leadership Training Track of IHOPU.
Daily Life
This is a snapshot of our daily life at IHOP-KC.
4:45am – Alarm went off
Heba: Zzzzzzzz…
Joseph: Hit snooze
4:54am – Alarm went off again
Both: Got up, got ready for the day.
6:00am – Off to Work
All IHOP-KC missionaries spend 24 hours a week in the Global Prayer Room. For the last three years we have chosen to pray at the 6am prayer meetings.
8:00am
Heba: More prayer ‘til 10am
Joseph: Spent 2 hours in the Sacred Trust Office, training new office staff that I had hired.
10:00am
Heba: Met with interns to have them transcribe classes from the IHOPU course curriculum
Both: Drove to IHOPU campus for a practicum class with the 3rd & 4th year APP students. This is one of our favorite times each day, where we get to sow into the lives of the future preachers and teachers of our nation. Today we focused on understanding the Father Heart of God.
2:00pm
Heba: Met with small group leaders/ students to make sure that pastoral care is going smoothly. Scheduled a prayer time with a girl in my small group.
Joseph: Drove back to main campus for more meetings. Today we met about how to streamline the staff application process and training. Fun!
Joseph: Finished the day by following up with some emails.
6:00pm
Dinner time! Another day of ministry complete.
Happy Birthday IHOP-KC!
For the last 10 years, worship and prayer have never stopped in Kansas City. In September of 1999, a small group of intercessors came together with a vision to start a fire on the altar that would never go out. And here we are 10 years later, and much like the energizer bunny, we’re still going… and going… and going…!
26 years ago while our founder, Mike Bickle, was pastoring a church in South Kansas City, he had a series of prophetic encounters where the Lord spoke about the coming prayer movement. It was a powerful time filled with miraculous events that confirmed again and again that prayer is on God’s agenda.
To celebrate our 10-Year Anniversary, Mike Bickle retold the stories of the supernatural encounters where God confirmed the call to sustain night & day prayer until Jesus returns. We want to give you a chance to hear these stories for yourself. All 9 sessions of the 10-Year Anniversary Celebration are available HERE.
