2010 – January/February Update

image In case you haven’t heard yet, we are excited to announce that we’re 15 weeks pregnant! Heba is doing amazing and was barely sick the entire first trimester. We are so excited!

We are doing really well here in KC. Since the last time we talked with you, we have been busy planning a student ministry trip to New England in March. We will take 20 IHOPU students across New England to preach, pray, and fast for that region and our nation. We are excited about this opportunity to work with, teach, and train our students in a real live ministry context. Please pray for us and for the students as we go.

We’ve heard from many of you wanting to know an update from 2009. As we tell you all of the news, remember that every one of these things was only possible because of you. It was your prayers and financial gifts that made all of it possible. Here are just a few of the things that you did last year.

In 2009 we were able to completely pay off all of our Credit Card debt. Thank you to all of you who gave above and beyond your normal gifts to help make this happen.

This one is just for fun, but Heba and I both commit to participate in at least 24 hours/week of prayer meetings at IHOP-KC. Together that means that we prayed over 2,000 hours in 2009.

One of our favorite aspects of ministry is that we get to work with 70 IHOPU students each week through small groups and other discipleship opportunities. Here is a story of one of the students whose life has been changed forever.

Robert’s Story

Robert is a bold evangelist with a heart for the lost in the streets and ghettos of the inner city. He understands the hardships of those who live there because he grew up homeless on the streets of Chicago.

Though he was able to escape the streets, Robert believed that he would spend the rest of his life dealing with depression because of the abuse he experienced from his parents; he was physically abused many times by his father and sexually molested by his mother. His only consolation was that after becoming a Christian he was no longer actively trying to kill himself.

One day during an Awakening Service (see back page), while Robert was praying with another student, the Lord began to touch his heart and heal the wounds from his past. He laughed and cried the entire evening while the Holy Spirit brought healing to his heart and mind.

When he woke up the next morning, the first thing Robert noticed was that he no longer hated what he saw when he looked in the mirror. Throughout the rest of that day, he was astonished at how quiet his mind was. There were no more thoughts and voices in his head telling him how stupid or ugly or worthless he was.

It’s been three months now since that day and he’s never gone back. In fact, he has used his story to set others free from depression and suicidal tendencies.

Student Awakening

On November 11, during a 9:00am class at IHOPU, the Lord moved with physical healings, deliverance, and a spirit of joy. That class continued for more than 15 hours. Word spread quickly and over 2,000 people spontaneously gathered in the auditorium from all over the Kansas City area. Since then we have begun gathering every Wed-Sat evening from 6 pm-Midnight.

In each of these meetings, many people are being set free from addictions, shame, depression, demonic activity, and every sort of emotional pain. We are also witnessing an increase of physical healings as God is touching and restoring bodies. What’s more, we are seeing lost souls being added to the kingdom of God. We are receiving many testimonies and reports that the Lord is also moving at universities, churches and prayer rooms that are joining with us each night via the webstream.

Throughout history, college and university campuses in our nation have been an epicenter and a catalyst for spiritual awakening. Since the 1700s, our nation has witnessed multiple moves of the Holy Spirit that have touched and awakened students on college campuses, including Princeton University, Yale University, Asbury College, Wheaton College, and more than a dozen other college campuses. These spiritual awakenings often progressed beyond the campuses and resulted in a great number of souls being added to the kingdom of God. History also attests to a strong correlation between spiritual awakening and missionary movements. We pray that this spiritual awakening that is touching IHOPU and the rest of our IHOP–KC Missions Base will break out all over our nation.

Thank You

The only reason we are able to do these works is because you believed in us and sowed into our ministry through your prayers and your financial gifts. Thank you on behalf of all of the lives that have been touched and changed. They owe you their hearts.

We look forward what the Lord will do through our labors and your prayers and gifts in 2010. Please pray for us, that the gospel of the Kingdom would run swiftly across this nation and that the Lord would be glorified through our ministry (2 Thessalonians 3:1).

Thank You,

Joseph & Heba Taylor
