The Lord has been speaking to Heba and I as well as a number of our leaders here at IHOP-KC through various means and in this season He has made it clear…
…we have an assignment in New England.
Heba and I want to respond wholeheartedly to the Lord and carry out with diligence the assignment He has given us. We have no greater privilege than to serve the Lord, whether in our home towns, in Kansas City, in New England or the nations.
In March we will travel with a team of missionaries to the New England area to give leadership to 40 days of prayer, fasting, evangelism, and outreach to impact that region with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. New England/the Boston area has the largest concentration of college students in America and the largest number of Ivy League students in the World.
We have an invitation from the Justice House of Prayer in Boston and are going there to work alongside them and other regional ministries to reach Ivy League students for Jesus. Each day we will visit several Ivy League schools and prayer-walk their campus, sharing the Gospel and leading campus prayer meetings.
Imagine Harvard, Cambridge, and Cornell
soaked in 40 days of prayer and evangelism
On the weekends we will work with several regional ministries to lead Awakening meetings similar to what we have had here at IHOPU since November 11, when Holy Spirit came in power. From the very beginning of the Student Awakening, the Lord led us to pray for college campuses; now He is sending us to awaken college campuses.
We Need Your Prayers…
We cannot carry out this strategic mission to New England alone; we need you to stand with us in prayer. Will you pray for us? As we sow into Ivy League students, would you sow alongside us through prayer, that we might reap a harvest together?
Tasha’s Story
We have been working with Tasha each week since August of last year. When we first met her, she was quite reserved and had a hard time receiving encouragement. Even though she grew up in a Christian family and had gone to church ever since she could remember, she felt depressed and distant from the Lord.
One day during a practicum class, Shelley Hundley, the deputy provost of IHOPU, shared her testimony. She shared about being sexually and physically abused as a child and how that led to anger, depression and suicidal actions during her college years. She shared how the Lord set her free and filled her heart with love and joy. She shared that the same freedom is available for each of us and she called each one to turn to the Lord and ask Him to set them free. Tasha answered that call…
And the Lord set Tasha free! She is free from depression, and weekly shares her testimony, calling others to turn to the Lord and find freedom.
From Tasha:
“There are some of you that need the same freedom. There’s been a dark cloud over you your whole life and everyone is praying joy over you and all you want to do is be happy. And right now God is saying that cloud is about to be broken by a Son that’s brighter than any sun that’s ever broken over you.”
Thank you
Your prayers and financial gifts make everything we have shared possible. Tasha thanks you. We thank you. And thousands of students across New England thank you.
And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?
Thank you for sending us.
