We wanted to take this month to tell you more of how we are doing personally. Next month we’ll fill you in on ministry life, updates, etc.
We have been doing really well. It seems like our life has been one big whirlwind since about the beginning of June or so. Joseph’s parents came to visit us and to help build a bathroom downstairs. Once it is finished, it will make the biggest difference for us – it will be like having a little apartment downstairs where we live.
We just got wind the other day that Lisa, Joseph’s sister, might visit us from Korea with her husband and their two boys for Thanksgiving. Yay, we are so jazzed! This is the first time that we are going to get to see Justin, the most recent addition to the Jang family
Another fun update is that we just celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary. We got to celebrate with Joseph’s parents while they were here, then we went on a FREE vacation trip to celebrate again after they left. A few months ago I literally whispered a prayer to the Lord and asked Him to give us a free vacation. Less than 24 hours later, one of our senior leaders came to me and connected us with a free place about 3.5 hours south of here. It was so needed.
Our ministry at IHOP-KC is going really well. I just transitioned out of my old job of being a section leader (basically I was one of the shift managers in charge of the prayer room everyday for 6 hours). Though I enjoyed it thoroughly and I learned a lot, I have come to realize that my passion is more geared toward working with college students. The work we did last year with the IHOPU Preaching School students was by far the favorite thing I got to do. Here’s a fun thing to share – I got promoted to be the Senior Pastoral Care Advisor for the Preaching School. I get to lead my own small group of girls and help oversee the other small groups.
So, there you go! Thank you so much for your friendship and prayers. We are praying for you and love you so much. I will leave you with this prayer that I pray all the time for our friendship:
Now may our God and Father Himself and Jesus our Lord direct our way to you; and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you; so that He may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints. (I Thess. 3:11 – 13)
