2009 – March/April Update

clip_image002Well, as it’s probably obvious, you haven’t heard from us in awhile! It is amazing how quickly time passes when you are working hard. Our apologies for not staying better in touch with you these last few months.

I know that we say this often, but we are so touched by your partnership with us. Thank you again and again.

Can you believe it has been almost four years since we left home to become missionaries? We can’t! We feel like it was just a few months ago that we moved to Kansas City. But a lot has changed in that time both personally and in the world.

Joseph and I just did a review of all of our partners since September 2005 when we first moved to Kansas City. We sat down on a Saturday morning and recorded every single donation in order to update our records in our database and we were completely blown away! Thank you so much for your prayers, encouragement, and financial support of us the past 3 ½ years.

As far as our personal news, Joseph has taken a position as the Manager of the Staff Development department (kind of like Human Resources or Personnel Office) here at IHOP-KC. It has been a lot of hard work but he really enjoys helping shape the direction of the ministry in this way.

We have also been doing a lot of training, teaching and mentoring students in our Bible School, IHOPU. We work with the preaching program, and lead training modules and small groups. It is amazing to see the impact of our lives on these 18-25 year olds.

One of the themes that has persisted throughout 2008 and now into 2009 has been how clearly God is calling us to consecrate ourselves. Over and over we have felt the invitation of the Lord to live a consecrated life, first in one way then in another. As we have been faithful to obey His invitation, we have witnessed a tremendous increase in the presence of God in our lives. We don’t yet know what it all means, but we are excited. Please pray for us that we would have strength and endurance to walk the road that the Lord has for us.

Again, thank you so much for all your support and encouragement of us these past few years. As we often say in our partner events, “when the Lord calls a missionary, he always raises up a team of people to partner with the missionary” and we see that so clearly. You are awesome and we are praying for you by name!

With our love, gratitude, and prayers,

P.S. – We’ve included a copy of the prayer list that we use to pray for you every week. We thought maybe you would enjoy it. Please send us a note to tell us how we can be praying for you. It’s our joy and honor.
