You Have A Testimony

God has an assignment for you today. Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, if you are a Christian, you have been commissioned by your Lord to boldly share your faith.

But where do you start? What do you share? How would you say it? These questions can often de-rail an otherwise eager believer from ever opening your mouth.

What you probably don’t know about yourself is that you have at least 15 different testimonies of God’s work in you already. I’ll explain more of that later.

Ok, so let’s make it super simple. That way, when you’re “in the moment” it won’t be so hard that you forget and get discouraged. We can pretty much break it down into three steps.

Where were you before God broke into your life?

How did God break in?

Focus it back on them, “…and I feel like God wants to do the same thing for you.”

Like I said above, you have way more testimonies than you probably think you have. The point isn’t to share one long story from your birth til today. What you want to do is share the specific story that applies to the situation they (the person you’re sharing your testimony with) are in.

Keep it focused, with one simple point to the story and not too many details. Simply tell them, [This is where I was], [This is how God broke into my situation], “and as we’ve been talking, I really feel that God wants to do the same thing in your life.”

Practice

As with anything that you’re new at, it’s good to practice sharing your testimony so that you can identify the main points and learn how to apply it to different situations. I am ready at any time to share a number of different testimonies.

  • How God saved me
  • How God healed my mom
  • How God set me free from addictions
  • How God set me free from shame
  • How God filled me with boldness to share my faith
  • How God gave me an amazing wife!!!

Go make a list of the areas that God has broken into your life. What was your life like before He broke in? How did He change that area? And then apply it to their situation.

When you follow these simple steps, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to talk to people about Jesus.
