Shelly Hundley just said this phrase in the Student Orientation. Wow, I have heard it berfore but it still hits me every time. Again wow, my ability to know God and walk with Him in faithfulness and to know His love is only limited by me.
We are like waiters, offering a good suggestion on what to eat….
Another great phrase. It describes how a preacher is not able to spoon feed the Bible to us. We are the only ones that can feed ourselves. They can point us in the right direction and show us verses and themes in the Word that we really want to grow in. But in the end, it’s not listening to a teaching that feeds you; it’s turning the Word into prayer and conversation with God.
Again, it puts the onus on me. I’m the one responsible to take the content of a teaching or sermon and actualize it into a heart standard.
You can have as much of God as you want…
