Letter from Mike Bickle

Dear Friends,

I have been leading conferences for over twenty years here in Kansas City, and never in all these years have I felt such urgency to press people to come to a conference. However, this year, the Lord has spoken very clearly to me, and I believe that IHOP-KC’s onething08 young adult conference (December 28-31 @ Bartle Hall) will prove to be more than just another conference.

When we look back in ten years, I believe we will see this conference as the defining moment in which this movement came of age and when we, together, took our place in God’s End-Time global purpose. Many of you are a vital part of this movement and are carriers of the prophetic promises that Jesus specifically gave to us regardless of which city you live in.

I don’t think you will want to miss this conference and, thus, I strongly encourage you to do whatever it takes—even change your plans—to join us. Take a minute and ask the Lord if you should come. I believe that He will surprise some of you by putting urgency in your spirit to be here.

I am really against using hype to motivate people. In over twenty years of leading conferences, I have never urged people to attend one conference. Yet, now I know this is the time to send forth a bold, clarion call to those in the prayer movement to intentionally enter into the forerunner ministry that will prepare the Church and the nations for Jesus’ return.

Lou Engle, Allen Hood, Misty Edwards, myself and the other leaders here at IHOP–KC feel the unique urgency of this hour. There is a dire need to call forth and train a generation of forerunners who have clarity as to what the Holy Spirit is saying, but also the boldness to confront and expose the lies that many leaders in the Body of Christ, even those with a 5-fold ministry calling, are attributing to the Holy Spirit.

We want to clearly address these issues and give specific action plans of how we can intentionally prepare ourselves and prepare others to confront the emerging antichrist systems in our culture and expose the increasing deception that blinds many in the Church today.

Over the years we have seen tens of thousands gather in Kansas City for this four-day conference. I am thankful to God for the measure of breakthrough some attendees have had as they received a fresh understanding of the tender heart of Jesus as our Bridegroom God. In this year’s conference, we will continue to build upon our favorite subject of living the First Commandment through intimacy with Jesus, as we also address some new and controversial topics.

At onething08, we are going to make a clear trumpet call as we give details about the "eschatological revolution" that is outlined in the Book of Revelation. To be clear, the Book of Revelation is very relevant for today. It is the "End-Time Book of Acts " and serves as both Jesus’ End-Time battle plan and our canonized prayer manual to equip the Church to release God’s justice and mercy. You will find that the Book of Revelation gives us significant prophetic insight that equips us to release God’s power to establish His kingdom and confront the encroaching powers of darkness that abound all around us.

In light of this urgent hour, we will also be doing some things differently with our schedule this year. Instead of 10 breakout seminars each afternoon we will all stay in the main auditorium and I will personally teach on what our leadership team believes are the main things the Holy Spirit is emphasizing today. Again, some of this will be very controversial. However, now is the time to speak clearly and boldly. Moreover, we will do something else that we have never done before at our conference – we will host live Q+A panel discussions with myself and others on our leadership team immediately following my main sessions to dialogue about the things that I will teach on. Finally, each night at 10:30 PM, we will host over 100 small groups led by IHOP-KC leaders to discuss some of the controversial things that will be said. These discussion times each night will be lively and relevant. This opportunity for those attending our conference to have in-depth interaction with IHOP-KC leaders will help many to quickly gain new understanding of what the Scripture is saying about this significant hour of history.

I believe this will be a historic gathering. In preparation, I will be hosting video podcasts on the IHOP–KC website. I will be casting vision for this event, as well as giving short teachings in preparation for this critical gathering. Starting today, I urge you to visit www.IHOP.org/onething08 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to watch the latest videos. I also recommend that you watch the live web stream when possible on Friday and Saturday nights as I prepare the IHOP family for this conference.

And even though the onething conference is FREE, registration is necessary. Please click here to register online.

Until He returns,

Mike Bickle
Director, IHOP–KC Missions Base
